So, I wake up every morning and like most parents I rush around. I get one off to school, fix hair, boss the kids around to eat, brush their teeth, make sure they are wearing clean clothes, make sure they have lunch, make sure, make sure, make sure........... it's what we sign up for when we become parents. Then, when I have time alone (or even when my little guy is snuggly in his sling)... I start my "work". I use quotation marks around the word "work" because really, it doesn't feel like work. It feels like taking care of my fourth baby. Challenging but a whole bucket of goodness!
So this morning I did the usual; take down my orders, write them in my hand dandy notebook, and mailed off some orders. Then comes the fun stuff......... getting bigger! Letting more people in the world know that we exist. We are a business and we are growing. I live, breathe and ooooooze, moccasins. It's actually mind boogling that leather, beads, elastic and thread could rule my world (well, aside from the family).
Anyways, Baby Moccasin Lady out..................

Blub of the Day
I want to help people. It's that simple. Yes, I want to do something I love. Do something I am good at. But first and foremost I want to help people. And while I help people it has to be something fulfilling. Something rewarding. Something challenging and ever changing. Something fresh. I am great with my hands. I work hard. I play hard. I have found the most amazing job in the world!! Making Quemeez :) I do all of these things because of BABY MOCCASINS! Imagine that.
I am looking for a cutting machine these days... any idea where I can get a good quality, affordable one? Thanks :)

Quemeez 1st Blog :)
- Hello, my name is Sunshine Tenasco-Brazeau. I am a first time "blogger" and I have a business called Quemeez. We (yes I can say "we" now) specialize in making baby moccasins. What started out as a part-time business has grown into a full-time operation! I work hard everyday to make, sell and advertise my business because I want to create full-time employment for First Nations People from my neck of the woods. I come from a reserve called Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg, which is an hour and a half North of Ottawa, ON. I strive to make the best quality moccasins that are both mommy and baby friendly.
- Quemeez gives weekly beading workshops (which are free and ridiculously fun!) at the Kitigan Zibi Band Office on Monday nights from 6:00-9:00. This is our way to encourage people to bead, give them skills and give them something to do!
- Anyways, please comment.... so I can figure this 'blogging' stuff out ;)
